These Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy (together, the "Terms") govern your access to and use of BlindSide (the "Service"), a private, invite-only platform on which verified contractors share firsthand experiences from completed jobs. In these Terms, "BlindSide," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Service, and "you" refers to the member accessing it. By requesting an invitation, verifying your phone number, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Terms of Service

1. What BlindSide Is

  • BlindSide is a private, invite-only forum where verified contractors share firsthand opinions and experiences from real jobs they personally performed. It is a venue for member speech, not a source of authoritative facts about any person.
  • Every entry on the Service is the individual opinion and firsthand account of the member who wrote it. BlindSide does not author, adopt, endorse, or independently verify member content, and makes no representation that any content is accurate or complete. You must verify everything independently before relying on it.

2. Eligibility & Membership

  • Membership is limited to verified contractors who are at least 18 years old, join through a valid invitation, and complete phone verification. Each member may hold one account and is responsible for all activity under it.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. We may suspend or end membership at our discretion, including for any violation of these Terms.

3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency · Permissible Use

  • BlindSide is not a consumer reporting agency, and the Service is nota consumer reporting product, as the term consumer reporting agency is defined by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., or any comparable state law.
  • As a condition of membership, and again before your first search, you certify that you will not use any information obtained through the Service, in whole or in part, to establish any person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. These certifications are recorded with a timestamp.
  • You agree to use the Service only for lawful, firsthand peer-to-peer information sharing among contractors, and not for any prohibited purpose. Misuse ends membership and may be disclosed to appropriate authorities where required by law.

4. Member Content & Conduct

  • You are solely responsible for the content you submit. Before each submission you must attest that it reflects an honest, firsthand experience from a real job you personally performed. Submitting false, secondhand, or fabricated content is prohibited, and the attestation is recorded with a timestamp and originating IP address.
  • You may not post content that is knowingly false, defamatory, or harassing; that references or targets any protected class; that discloses another person's sensitive personal information; or that violates any law or the posting rules. Content that violates the posting rules is removed, and repeat violations end membership.
  • You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant BlindSide a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating it, subject to the deletion and archival practices described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Moderation & No Composite Ratings

  • No content is published without human moderator approval. An automated pre-screen and a content filter route submissions for human review; references to protected classes are declined automatically and without appeal.
  • The Service does not compute, display, or store any composite, inferred, or derived measure about a person. The only aggregate information shown is the arithmetic average of member-submitted star inputs and plain counts of member-submitted structured answers.
  • All content originates from a verified member's own submission. BlindSide does not import, purchase, or incorporate third-party data about any person.

6. Rights of Reviewed Individuals

  • A person who is the subject of member content may, without creating an account, respond publicly, dispute the content, or request its deletion through the subject portal. A dispute hides the content immediately pending moderator review, with a 48-hour response target.
  • Deletion requests are processed within 30 days and remove the subject profile and associated content from display, subject to any legal hold required to preserve records.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Member content is opinion; you rely on it at your own discretion and must verify it independently.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, BlindSide and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any member content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BlindSide and its operators from any claim or demand arising out of the content you submit or your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

8. Governing Law & Changes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
  • We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect when we post the updated Terms and revise the "Last updated" date above; your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: your phone number (used for verification and matching), and the display name you provide. We collect your IP address at the time you attest to a submission.
  • Member content: the star inputs, structured answers, and written experiences you submit, along with the subject details you enter.
  • Private journal: the per-member customer and job log you keep. Journal data is private to you and is never shown to other members unless you take the separate, explicit step of sharing an entry into the review composer.
  • Evidence: files you upload to support a submission. Evidence is visible only to moderators. We do not accept photos of people or of home interiors.
  • Activity data: a log of your searches and lookups, and minimal call-match records limited to a member identifier, a one-way hash of the other number, a timestamp, and whether a match existed. We do not store call duration, transcripts, or raw numbers from call events.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate the Service: verify members, match phone numbers, moderate and display content, deliver notifications you enable, and respond to disputes and deletion requests.
  • To keep the Service safe and lawful: enforce the posting rules and permissible-use certifications, apply rate limits, and detect patterns of use inconsistent with legitimate contractor use. Accounts showing such patterns may be suspended.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use member content or any automated tool to rate, rank, or make predictions about any individual.

3. What Is Displayed · Data Minimization

  • Publicly within the Service, a subject is shown only by first name, last initial, and city. Full phone numbers are never displayed; where a number is shown at all, only the last four digits appear.
  • Phone numbers are stored as a one-way hash for matching and are separately encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Evidence remains accessible only to moderators.

4. Retention

  • Member content automatically archives 36 months after the job date and is no longer displayed after archival.
  • Call-match records are hard-deleted after 30 days.
  • Deletion requests are processed within 30 days, subject to any legal hold required to preserve records for a pending dispute or legal obligation.

5. Your Choices & Subject Rights

  • Members can edit or delete their own journal entries at any time, and can turn call-match prompts on or off in Settings.
  • Any person who is the subject of member content may respond, dispute, or request deletion through the subject portal without creating an account, as described in the Terms of Service.
  • We disclose personal information to third parties only as needed to operate the Service (for example, our phone-verification and messaging provider), or where required by law or valid legal process.
